Yves Saint Laurent Mascara

Hey y'all!

Today I got the best thing ever. Free mascara from Yves Saint Laurent. Buy it here! I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. I wear mascara every day, my mom says I don't have to because my lashes are already crazy long, but this is so exciting. I'm switching from Urban Decay for the next few weeks to see what the hype about YSL is all about.

I'm really picky about my makeup, but I'm always willing to try something new. The price tag of this mascara is a little steep compared to store brands, but the quality is unmatched! I wear contacts daily so I need something that doesn't irritate them and a mascara that stays on all day without flaking. The brush is super easy to handle and the bottle is gorgeous.

I've used a lot of different mascaras, but this is by far the best one I've ever used and it's only day one! With just a little bit it makes my lashes darker, longer, and more voluminous and on top of that it smells awesome!

I really hope a lot of people ask me if my lashes are fake because they definitely look like it right now!

Clear Proof Regimen

I received the Clear Proof acne system by Mary Kay from Influenster and this is the first skin care regimen that I feel is a complete game changer. 

From the look of the bottles to the ease of use, I'm hooked. I don't have super oily or acne covered skin, but I get breakouts on my forehead and around my nose. I try not to wear heavy makeup, but I wear it daily. 

The cleansing gel has completely replaced by normal face wash. It doesn't have a smell, but it's clear and easy to squeeze out in the shower. 

The blemish control toner is my favorite. After every shower I put it on in the morning (and sometimes even before bed) and feel even cleaner and fresher.

The treatment gel is great too. I had a horrendous pimple between my eyes on my nose and after one night of the gel being on it, it was half of its size in the morning and then by 10pm that night it was practically gone!

I LOVE the moisturizer. It's great, easy, scent free, and the bottle is pretty big so it will last a while longer. Even under makeup I can feel it moisturizing my skin and keeping it acne free.

GO VOX BOX thanks Influenster

The theme for this VoxBox was “Go”. Influenster doesn’t exactly mention when they send out the pre-qualifying surveys, what the survey is for, but I kind of had an idea this time based on the questions and, to be honest, I didn’t think I was going to get qualified for this one as I haven’t been exercising as often as I should be!  But it pays to be honest in the surveys, and I think maybe they’re trying to inspire me to get back into it regularly again

PROFOOT Triad Orthotic ($10.49)- These are Orthotic inserts to help correct poor foot alignment to promote knee, leg and back pain. I am guilty of buying shoes with really poor arch and foot support, so I’m tempted to use these, but really I’m going to give these to my mom because she’s been actually experiencing back pain. I’m curious to see if these will help alleviate it.

PROFOOT Pedi-Rock ($8.99)- Perfect timing with this as flip-flop season is approaching and I’ve been getting my feet ready! The outside texture of this feels a little like a file in order to soften feet, but it’s squeezable, so it can mold and move around curves.

Playtex Sport Fresh Balance Tampons ($4.99)- Can’t go wrong with a full box of feminine protection.  Always appreciated!

Blue Diamond Fruit Flavored Almonds

Blue Diamond Fruit Flavored Almonds ($1.29)- I’d like to meet the person who invented these because they’re a “Morgan mind-reader”. Almonds and nuts in general are a favorite snack of mine because they’re good for me, but give me a similar satisfying “crunch” like potato chips. However, sometimes I just get bored of them because there’s not enough variety. So combining fruit flavors and almonds? Awesome!  I had NO idea this was even out there on the market!  I checked out the website and it looks like these come in Blueberry, Strawberry, and Raspberry.

Muller Greek Corner Yogurt

Muller Greek Corner Yogurt ($1.29)- Coupon for a free Greek Yogurt! Always appreciated… I eat yogurt almost nightly.

Aqua Spa Relax Bath Soak Lavender + Chamomile

Aqua Spa Relax Bath Soak ($9.99)- Ahh… so happy to see this in the box! Fragrant baths have become a nightly routine for me (replacing tea drinking) as the relaxation method to get me sleepy at night and I go through yummy bath stuff like crazy. The fragrance for this soak is Lavender + Chamomile and it smells wonderfully drowsy and perfect.

Jaxx Next Step Shaker Cup

Jaxx Next Step Shaker Cup ($5.99) – This is a “to-go” cup that does the protein powder mixing for you with a little “jacks” looking thing inside. I have to say that there’s nothing worse than mixing a protein or fitness shake and feeling “lumps” while drinking it, so this is a cool little piece of cup technology here.

Vitamin Shoppe Next Step Fit N’ Full Shake x3 ($4.08)- These three shakes can be used in the shaker cup above. They’re meant as a meal replacement and I received the flavors “Fresh Berries”, “French Vanilla”, and “Swiss Chocolate”.  Hubby said he’s going to try them out

After totaling everything in my #GoVoxBox, I came to: $47.11.  What I paid?  Zilch!  And although I said earlier that I hadn’t been working out as regularly as I should be, receiving all these wellness goodies has inspired me to.  Sometimes you just need a little pick-me-up.

The Grand Old Party

Creating a blog is seriously a long time coming. I didn't want to do another fashion blog or lifestyle blog. I already religiously follow ChicagoPrepster, sCe, and theCollegePrepster so why try to enter that world when I know I can't compete with their fabulousness. Also, I don't love fashion. Albeit, I love J.Crew and Lilly Pulitzer, but I definitely don't have that fashion knack to put outfits together (besides pairing colored Chinos to a different colored v-neck and some Sperry's). But I do have a passion for politics.

Hi! I'm Morgan, a 24-year-old post grad who has an obsession for baking champagne cupcakes, my little dog, Captain Barkley, and the Grand Old Party. I was born in New Orleans (who dat), then lived right outside of Fort Bragg, grew up in Midland, Michigan and then moved myself down to Florida to finish school and work at Disney World. A lot has changed in the past five years, but my beliefs haven't, honestly they have only gotten stronger.

Being a member of the UCF College Republicans has really made me into the republican that I am today. Discussing politics is fun, to me of course, and being able to debate issues is even better. Belonging to a group that shares a lot of the same beliefs that I do really made me want to expand my "political circle." So that's how this blog happened...

I went with the GOPrep because you can take it two different ways..."GOP - prep" or "GOP representative." I feel like I am both. I have my preppy edge in my everyday wardrobe and try to uphold southern belle standards in everything I do. But I also feel like I am a great representative of the Republican party. Either way, I support the Republican National Committee and the College Republican National Committee as much as I can (so go get the CRNC Vineyard Vines tote...it's for a great cause and it's pretty much the best bag money can buy and then we can match, obviously).
